EDC of a french farmer
-Opinel #10 carbon steel-Leclanché flashlight-some coins-key
The Leclanché flashlight belonged to my great-grandfather.
PS: I love this blog, check it at least once a day ;)

Editor’s Note: Whoops, forgot to publish this submission from several decades ago. Jokes aside, nice to see some ‘classic’ gear but you’re missing out on all the fun of having a sharp edge and LED emitters! Consider retiring this gear before wear and tear gets the best of them and free up some pocket space with more modern pieces, unless your sentimental attachment is too strong. Thanks for sharing.

I disagree with mostly everything EDC has to say on this.  These Opinel knives are classics - easy to open, lock, sharpen and carry.  If the light works, keep it.  We all carry coins but I’ve never seen anyone on your site admit that they carry them.  Coins happen.
Stop criticizing and let people share, EDC.  Not everyone has the need for paracord, LED flashlights, an extra mag of ammo (which would get me arrested PRONTO in BKLYN) and carbon-fiber card-carriers. When you started this site, was it your intention to share “pocket-dumps” so that people could learn about other lifestyles or to simply point out who has the most cash to throw at “survivalism?”
